You can find this module under Files and File Explorer.
Java is turned off for all existing users who have not specifically made a choice that they want to use it. If you need to use this feature, you can enter the "file area", click on "settings" in the upper right, click on the "Java applikasjon" tab - and then click on "Ja, jeg vil bruke Java applikasjonen" . If you do not have Java installed, it will be downloaded here . (Note: Please remove the "Ask Toolbar" extension from the installation before proceeding.)
The file area kan fint brukes uten Java (recommended), and it is only for special needs that Java needs to be activated (check in and check out files, and by merging).
The same functionality applies to the file areas on customer cards (company and private), contact and project. Here you store and manage the files used in the business.
Settings
In the top menu bar, the Settings option appears. The default setting is suitable for most people. If not, you can make changes to suit your needs.
Connect
Using this feature, you can add folders to the file area you are in from other file areas of the system and thus easily move files from one file area to another. Folders that you add to one file area from another will not get stuck on the current file area, ie if you add a folder, that folder will not appear the next time you access that file area. Available folders are controlled by which folders the user has access to in relation to permissions set on folders and files (by default, all users have access to all folders).
Editing files
When working with a file and you want to save the changes in the file area, the file must be "checked out", ie either double-clicking or using the right-click menu (shown below).
When you double-click on a file you want to open, the dialog box is shown below.
If you select "Don't ask me again", this box will not come back. It will then do the action you chose to deselect to prevent the message from appearing, eg checking files every time you double-click. To change this back again so that you get the dialog again, you have to change the setting of “Redigering av filer" (See the image from the settings higher up in the help file). This must then be reset to "Prompt" / "Ask".
If you choose to open and check out, that means locking the file for editing for other users. As long as the file is checked out, only you can make changes to it, and a temporary file will be saved on your PC by this file and a padlock icon will appear behind the file name in the file explorer. You must upload the file again after you finish making changes, and when it is uploaded, other users can check out the file and make changes to it.
The second choice is to open the file only. When you click Open, it means that you open the file to read its contents and cannot make any changes. You can open files without checking out both if it has been checked out by someone before or if it has not been checked out.
The checked-out file is on hold:
Search
Under the folder view in the left column you have the choice "Folders" and "Search" In Search you can search for files in the file explorer in 24SevenOffice.
Folder / File Permissions
Folders and Files can be set in relation to the persons who should have access to them. The rights are limited to whether users are granted access or not, ie you cannot decide that a user can read files and not edit.
The rights are linked to Groups and these are set up under the Administration and Groups module.
Right-click on a folder / file and select Properties. Under Security, we see which Groups have access to this folder / file. All new folders created will automatically have access to all Groups. If only some groups should have access to Folders / Files, go to Properties - Security and grant Access by ticking the group (s).
